We were able to interview both principals Heather Willems and Nora Herting who used their background in art and education to start a business that has created an innovative way to organize, display and discuss ideas and information.

The Fabulous Female Network in Vancouver found this amazing eyebrow threading salon which is owned by two sisters. They use traditional Indian techniques to give women the eyebrows that will make their faces look their best. While it is not always easy to work with family, these two sisters have found a way to make the Bombay Brow Bar a successful and fun place to be!

5th Annual French-American Entrepreneurship Award

French and American entrepreneurs gathered this week at the French consulate in New York City to honor the top small business owners in the French-American community.

The French-American Entrepreneurship Award is a joint project of Club 600 and the French-American Chamber of Commerce, New York and sponsored by Constantin, Deloitte and JC Decaux.

The winner of the 5^th annual French-American Entrepreneurship Award and a $10,000 cash prize was Poutsch. The company, co-founded by Melchoir Schöller, Felix Winckler, and Etienne Adriaenssen is a new social media platform designed so individuals and groups can ask questions and gather information and opinions of people from around the world.

“We are very encouraged by the support given to Poutsch by the French-American Entrepreneurship Award. It was exciting beforehand, but with this support it should help us move forward in the right direction,” said Winckler, co-founder of Pousch, after receiving the award.

The other finalists for the 2012 award were Charles Brunold founder of Louis Purple USA, Charles De Mollerat Du Jeu founder of AjaXplorer and Julien Legeard founder of Atelier Esperanto.

The room at the French Consulate was full of inspiring stories ranging from the 2012 Junior Entrepreneurship Award winner Victoire Scherer, who creates hand-made jewelry sold at craft fairs in the New York area to Céline Legros, FAEA winner from 2010 and founder of Canelé by Céline. The night was celebratory, inspirational and educational for all in attendance. The FAEA has created a great environment for entrepreneurs to thrive.
